So It's Been Awhile

Hey there, G.O. readers!

I know it's been awhile since I've touched base with everyone.  I just want to start by saying that I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Mine went well.  I wish I could say the same for all the new recipes I tried.  I wasn't happy with my pumpkin cheesecake, and my new macaroni recipe was okay.  So far, I don't think I'm a big fan of the flour/butter/whipping cream roux, based macaroni recipes.  I think I just prefer the ones where you melt the cheese in the noodles and bake it.  I may be going back to my Patti LaBelle Mac for Christmas.  But I'm not giving up on other mac recipes.  I'll start anew next year.

I am happy to report that I've completed 95% of my shopping.  I got some finished on the day before Thanksgiving; some finished on Thanksgiving night; and some done on the actual day of Black Friday.  Most was done online, so I didn't have to get into the madness once reserved for the day after Thanksgiving that now occurs on Thanksgiving evening.  Now I'm just waiting for one more gift to come in the mail, and I will have all my online packages in hand (except for the ones I shipped to my friend's house, so my hubby couldn't see them).

My Christmas decorations are all up.  Now comes the part of clearing out all the boxes and cleaning up the disarray that was created in order to pull out all the decorations.  I prefer to have all my decorations up as early as possible in December.  When you have seven trees (not all full sized, thank goodness), you go through too much time and trouble to only have them up for 10 days--me thinks not.

I will post some pics of my decorations soon for you guys to see.  I have not forgotten about my plans for this blog and a potential radio show.  I think I am going to have wait until next year though to get that totally up and running.  I also have to get in gear to take The Missy Show to the next level.  So I plan to spend the rest of this month thinking about where I see things going for next year.

In the meantime, everyone stay safe and sane.  This can be a wonderful time of year, full of joy and gratitude; but it can also be a stressful time filled with people pleasing and stress, (more to come about this topic).  So until next time, I send good vibes to you all.  Send some back to me too!

Love, peace, and chicken grease!
